The AOSIS Summit on Climate Change was held at the Rose Center of the American Museum of Natural History in New York on Monday, 21 September 2009 from 2:00pm to 9:00pm.
 
The main objective of this summit was to finalize AOSIS preparation for the UN Secretary General Climate Change Summit held at the United Nations Headquarters on 22 September, and the General Assembly debate, as well as to further preparations for concluding negotiations in Copenhagen during the fifteenth session of the Conference of Parties to the UNFCCC in December 2009. The main outcome of the Summit was the AOSIS Climate Change Declaration 2009.
 
Among attendees to this Summit there were the UN Secretary General, Mr. Ban Ki Moon, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, Mr. Yvo de Boehr, the Under Secretary General and High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked developing Countries and Small Island Developing States, Mr. Cheick Sidi Diarra, the Chair of the AOSIS the honourable Tillman Thomas, Prime Minister of Grenada, Heads of States and governments members of AOSIS, representatives of certain UN agencies and others organizations.
