LDC Watch, in collaboration with the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and the UN Office of the High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UNOHRLLS), is organising this event in the lead-up to the Fourth UN Conference on LDCs (LDC IV) that is being coordinated by UNOHRLLS in Istanbul, Turkey in May-June 2011.
The LDC IV will assess the implementation of the BPoA, and consequently adopt a new international agreement for LDCs for the coming decade. The purpose of the CSO Assembly in Bangkok will be to stimulate discussion among Asian civil society from LDCs, and to feed people’s development perspectives into the LDC IV process.
